Mid-Range Phone List (between Rs10,000 – 20,000)


At one point or the another we all will be confused on which mobile deserves our hard-earned money,there is so much to choose from -BlackBerry,Nokia,Sony,Motorola if that wasn’t enough then let’s think OS wise -Android,Symbian,Windows .Then there all the technical gibberish. I shall try to make it simple. Here is a list according to the OS with the main features .At the end of the day it should be your choice and something which you are comfortable with.

Note-I haven’t included phones released before 2011. I referred to Flipkart.com and LetsBuy for the prices -It will vary depending on where you buy the phone.

Symbian

Personally I suggest you stay from it as it’s almost in its dying ages .But it’s still pretty good and smooth .

Nokia 603

Pros

Cons

  • No secondary/front camera
  • mircoSIM needed

Cons

  •  Screen is a bit small for typing comfortably its 3.2 inch
  •  No secondary camera/Front facing camera
  • Primary camera is 5MP and has fixed focus

Personally I suggest this if you want a Nokia Symbian phone

  • Under-Powered Processor (I haven’t experienced any lag though)- 680 MHz ARM 11 CPU and 256 MB RAM
  • Battery can’t be removed/replaced by the user
  • No video light

Nokia E7 has a very unique design which will definitely attract a few looks when you use it in public.

  •     No auto focus
  •    CPU and RAM are a bit less or outdated

Windows

Windows 7 phones are just catching up.There are mixed reactions to it -some love it for its simplicity and ease of use and others hate it for the same.Since its in the baby stages the number of apps are bit less but much better than Symbian if you ask me.

  • There is a kickstand behind the phone

Cons

  • Camera Lens has no cover/protection
  • Battery is below average
  • Camera quality is disappointing

Android

Android phones have received mixed reactions some love it for the depth of customization it offers ,some find it too complex. A common problem with almost every Adnroid phone is that it will only give you a day of battery backup-As in the battery will last maximum for 24 hours depending under normal usage which includes – some gaming,a few emails,texting ,wi-fi  etc.

HTC ChaCha 

HTC ChaCha is a phone for all those social network junkies. Facebook is deeply integrated into the OS .
